Workshops - getting up close and grubby

Peter & Julie hold workshops at both their studio/gallery and home, as well as off site, for example in design stores or at corporate offices.

The workshops are a mix of presentation of processes, examples of their work from the past and current, as well as 'have a go' sessions: getting up close and grubby with clay. The workshops are heaps of fun as well as inspiring.  They are often used as team building exercises. There is no hierarchy when covered in clay, all are equal!

DUE TO POPULARITY IT'S BACK: The White Crackle Glaze Orb

A 2 hour event where you see Peter make an orb, watching the process up close and hearing about the process from years of experience of one of the countries most well-known ceramic artists.

Then switch gear to get involved - select an orb and make it uniquely yours with the distinctive inking process. With this process, each orb differs significantly, and you are in control of how you create it. Peter will guide you through the inking process, and you take the orb away with you at the end of the day to become a feature in your home.

The workshop costs $80 per person, which includes the 2 hour tutor, wine & cheese, an orb worth $49 (the one you made uniquely yours) and heaps of fun and inspiration.

Book below. Spaces are limited to 15 participants, so be fast.

October 16th, 3-5 pm

RAKU FIRING -The most exciting and immediate form of firing pottery.

Adapted from the traditional Japanese technique participants will glaze and fire pottery in a special kiln on the day! Peter will demonstrate and orchestrate activities so participants will glaze, decorate and fire their own pots. Bisque pots will be provided; the first one is covered in your fee.
During the day you will also have an opportunity to try out the pottery wheel.
The workshop cost is $140 per person,  which includes morning tea and a simple lunch. Later wine and cheese will be served (included) and participants will be welcome to view the studio and gallery complex.

Participants will each go home with their own Raku Pot.

Book below. Spaces are limited to 10 participants, so be fast.
